Design with YOUR lifestyle in mind
1 – Initial Consultation
You have full control over your initial consultation. Depending on the scale and scope of the project, your consultation may consist of multiple appointments. During your consultation, we will connect and establish your goals for your project. Prior to our first meeting, you’ll be asked to complete a detailed client questionnaire which allows us to assess the needs of the space and your tastes. After reaching an agreement on your design package, you’ll receive a detailed proposal and a Letter of Agreement (LOA). Your proposal and LOA details the scope of the project, what will be provided by éLAN, the associated fees for completing the design portion of the project, and a timeline with at least the first Design Review appointment.
After settling the business of agreements and deposits, we will begin collaborating on your project. The earliest stage of our design collaboration includes additional consultations (if needed) and utilizing various visual inspiration programs such as Houzz and Pinterest.
2 – Design Development
After the consultation is complete, your design process begins. Design development includes field measurements, receiving estimates from contractors and trade professionals, establishing the full design concept, creating renderings and floor plans, selecting the various items that bring your vision to life, preparation of detailed budgets and timelines, and much more. This phase may take a few days or several weeks depending on the scope of the project; however taking the time to create a solid design plan is essential to a project that turns out beautifully and runs as smoothly as possible.
3 – Design Review
During the Design Review, you and I will review the aesthetic concept, colors and textures, fabrics, furniture, layouts, and floor plans. We will also review any budgetary changes or questions and timelines. If any revisions are requested, a follow-up design review must be scheduled before we are able to advance to the next phase.
4 – Material Selection
Detailed material selections for flooring, wall covering, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, masonry, cabinetry, countertops, and more is necessary if construction, minor or major, is required. Our expertise in identifying the best materials and finishes for your project promises to bring your vision to life. We take incredible pride in sourcing materials for our clients based on several requirements – they must be stylish & cohesive with your aesthetic, high quality to provide an enduring result, functional and able to be maintained in a way that works with your lifestyle, and keep with the established investment for your home or building.
You will be offered an appointment on site, in the design studio, or in a material showroom to view the material selections and provide final approval. If you are unable to attend an appointment in person, approvals may be done virtually using a digital proposal and conference call.
5 – Implementation
This phase of the design process is when the creation of your vision is brought to life. There may be construction taking place and material, furnishings, and accessories being purchased. Occasionally, you may feel this phase is taking a long time but there are a multitude of details being managed to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible. We pride ourselves on exceeding your design expectations and we work hard to deliver perfection on-time per the timeline we established early in your design process.
6 – Installation & Styling
Once all of the items have arrived onsite and construction is complete, your designer works to install everything in your home and bring your vision to life. Completion of your project includes final furnishings, art, draperies, accessories, etc. For large projects, installation and styling may occur over several days. The final reveal is an exciting day for you and we will be close by to walk you through the final projects and confirm that you are satisfied with all aspects of your new space.
